Teen killed in shooting in north Houston; 15-year-old detained
A young man was shot and killed near an apartment complex in the North Houston neighborhood.
A teenage boy was shot and killed near an apartment complex Monday afternoon in a north Houston neighborhood.
The incident was reported at a complex located in the 10100 block of Bammel at 3:20 p.m. by Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
@HCSOTexas deputies responded to a call for service at a complex located at 10155 Bammel North Houston. Upon arrival, units learned a male had been shot. CPR was administered at the scene, but the victim, between the age 15-17, was pronounced dead when first responders arrived.
Our Sky 2 Chopper was over the scene. The victim appeared to be covered by a tarp near a dark-colored sedan parked at the complex.
After talking to witnesses, deputies detained a 15-year-old who was in an apartment.
The shooting may be tied to a possible drug transaction, according to HCSO Sgt. Brown.
