Houston police are investigating a late-night shooting that left a man critically injured Friday night in northwest Houston.

HPD officers were first dispatched just after 10 p.m. on Oct. 24 to a report of a person seriously injured.
The investigation led them to the 4700 block of West Tidwell Road, near a walking area with benches just west of a park.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his early 30s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency crews transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition. Doctors later informed police the victim had been stabilized.
Investigators believe the man was resting on a park bench when he was shot. Despite his injuries, he was able to call for help but could not provide a description of the suspect.
