Police officer, 2 children flown to hospital by helicopter after crash in Baytown

A Baytown police officer and two children have been flown to a hospital by helicopter after a crash Thursday evening.

The crash happened around 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of West Baker Road and Country Club Drive.

The Baytown Police Department said the officer was involved in a crash with a van.

The officer and two children who were inside the van were flown to a hospital. Other people who were inside the van, including the driver, were also treated at the scene.

The condition of the officer and the children is unknown at this time.

All lanes in the area remain closed as the investigation continues.
