Ground stop lifted at Bush Airport due to staffing

A ground stop was issued for Bush Intercontinental Airport on Thursday afternoon. It has since been lifted.

According to the FAA website, the ground stop was issued at 5:02 p.m. and was due to issues with staffing.

On Tuesday, a ground stop was issued for both Houston airports due to staffing, making this the second this week for Bush Airport. On Wednesday flights were also delayed.

The ground stop at Bush was expected to be lifted at 6:30 p.m., and traffic resumed as scheduled.

The FAA released this statement earlier this week to address the staffing issues:

“As Secretary Duffy has said, there have been increased staffing shortages across the system. When that happens, the FAA slows traffic into some airports to ensure safe operations.”
