Grass fire breaks out in Montgomery County days after new burn ban issued
Firefighters are monitoring hotspots after a grass and woods fire in Montgomery County.

Just days after Montgomery County enacted a countywide burn ban, a grass and woods fire broke out Thursday near Old Houston and FM 1314.
According to the Texas A&M Forest Service, the fire, which has been designated Montgomery 4888, has burned 20 acres and is 40 percent contained.
Fire officials said multiple citations were issued over the weekend after responding to burn complaints across Montgomery County.
They’re urging residents to follow the new burn ban as dry conditions continue to pose a fire risk.
