The Sugar Land Police Department confirmed to 2 Investigates that a ninth home was burglarized last week. This marks the ninth break-in since the Fourth of July holiday.
On Sunday evening, the department held a community meeting at Sweetwater Country Club to address homeowners’ concerns about the recent robberies. Police say the burglaries have targeted unoccupied homes in the early evening and that no violence has been reported.
Residents have noticed an increased law enforcement presence, including drones, as officers work to catch the suspects. The number of suspects remains unknown, and police are urging the public to stay vigilant.
The department is providing residents with a three-page security tip sheet and offering free home security assessments.
