Man shoots girlfriend before turning gun on himself in west Harris County, sheriff says
A woman was airlifted to a hospital Wednesday morning after officials said she was shot by her boyfriend in west Harris County moments before he turned the gun on himself.

Details remain limited due to the active investigation, but Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the man and woman were driving separate cars in the 2200 block of South Mason Road.

It’s unclear what led up to the shooting, but Sheriff Gonzalez said the man then drove to a gas station near Katy Freeway and Eldridge Parkway, where he shot himself.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman was taken by LifeFlight to a nearby hospital. Neither of them has been identified.
