An air quality alert is active today for Houston, Galveston, and Brazoria, with heightened fire danger lasting through tonight. Skip those bonfires, especially near the I-45 corridor, where fire risks are elevated.

We’re starting the morning in the 50s and 60s with a seasonable high in the 80s with lower humidity. Today will feel like fall!

Dry, warm weather boosts fire risk through tonight. Even with that fall crispness, steer clear of bonfires.

- Avoid spark-causing activities, as fires can flare up fast.

- Never leave a fire burning unattended or without purpose.

- Secure tow chains to prevent dragging and sparking.

- Avoid tossing lit cigarettes onto the ground.

Sunday’s another great day. We’ll wake up in the 60s and warm into the upper-80s. There will be a bit more cloud cover Sunday afternoon compared to Saturday, but still expect it to be very sunny.

Tropical Storm Jerry: Packing 60 mph winds, bringing swells, hazardous surf, and rip currents to the Leeward Islands, Windward Islands, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Turks and Caicos. The Bahamas may see impacts today.

Tropical Wave near Cabo Verde Islands: Scattered thunderstorms with a 20% chance of forming into something more over the next 7 days.

You’ll be waking up in the 60s with highs in the mid-80s this weekend, so enjoy it while it lasts because by next week, our lows will pop back up in the 70s with highs above average in the 90s.
