A ground stop has been lifted at Houston’s Hobby Airport. Conversely, one has started at Bush Intercontinental Airport.

According to the FAA website, the ground stop at HOU was due to issues with staffing.

The ground stop at Hobby was scheduled to go until 5:45 p.m., but it was lifted several minutes early. The ground stop at Bush is scheduled to be lifted at 6:30 p.m.

Houston Airport System officials confirm the ground stop at Hobby was due to staffing issues.

The FAA released this statement on the staffing issues:

“As Secretary Duffy has said, there have been increased staffing shortages across the system. When that happens, the FAA slows traffic into some airports to ensure safe operations.”
