Three new trustees have been elected to the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Board of Trustees. Lesley Guilmart, Cleveland Lane Jr., and Kendra Camarena will each serve four-year terms starting this December.

3 new trustees elected to Cypress-Fairbanks ISD school board

Voters have chosen three new members to serve on the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District Board of Trustees following Tuesday’s election.

According to unofficial results from all 600 voting centers, Lesley Guilmart, Cleveland Lane Jr., and Kendra Camarena were elected to four-year terms representing Positions 5, 6, and 7, respectively.Lesley Guilmart was elected to Position 5 of the CFISD Board of Trustees.

For the Position 5 seat, Guilmart received 31,576 votes, or 50.89 percent, defeating Radele Walker, who received 33.72 percent, and Terrance Edmond, who received 15.4 percent.

Cleveland Lane Jr. was elected to Position 6 of the CFISD Board of Trustees.

For Position 6, Lane received 28,082 votes, or 44.79 percent, finishing ahead of Natalie Blasingame with 34.25 percent and Scott Henry with 20.96 percent.Kendra Camarena was elected to Position 7 of the CFISD Board of Trustees.

For Position 7, Camarena received 30,446 votes, or 49.01 percent, defeating George Edwards Jr., who received 38.08 percent, and Elecia Jones, who received 12.91 percent.

In the lead-up to the election, several Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Board of Trustees races drew attention for their competitive matchups and political dynamics.

The official results will be canvassed during a special-called board meeting on November 17, and the new trustees will be sworn in at the board’s December 11 work session.
