‘Why he all up in my business?’: Chicago mayor slams Texas governor over leadership comments
“Focus on Texas.”

“Focus on Texas,” echoed throughout a news conference held by Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson as he slammed Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s comments about him “not doing his job.”
Abbott has defended President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy the Texas National Guard to Chicago to crack down on crime, saying he “fully authorized the president to call up 400 members of the Texas National Guard to ensure safety for federal officials.”
Abbott also suggested Chicago should either cooperate in protecting federal employees or “get out of the way” of the Guard’s actions.
Johnson accused Abbott of interfering in Chicago affairs instead of addressing problems in his own state.
“The governor of Texas should be worrying about Texas. Why he all up in my business? Focus on Texas!” Johnson told reporters.
He also criticized Abbott’s spending of $200 million to move migrants to other cities, saying the money “should be going toward raising the minimum wage in Texas” rather than being used to “mess with Chicago.”
Johnson added that Abbott “certainly doesn’t understand how to deal with a crisis,” referring to a storm that killed about a hundred people.
