Tracking the heat in Houston as thunderstorms start to roll in this afternoon.

It’s another steamy day across Houston, with temperatures feeling more like mid-summer than October. This afternoon into this evening, we’ll continue to track isolated thunderstorms for some not all, as we continue to track a weak front.Wednesday Highs

You can track radar here:

Talk about a fall sizzler, we’ve been tracking record-breaking or near record-breaking hot in Houston the past couple of days, but what goes up, must come down, right?! All thanks to a weak cool front now south of the Dallas area today In fact, some of these areas are going to be waking up in the 50s and 60s as a result this week.Tracking the front

The much warmer temperatures plus the dry conditions and the winds ahead of the front put us at risk for fire danger today, but it’s slightly higher Thursday. So use extreme caution if working with equipment that could spark a fire, don’t throw cigarettes out your window or park by dry grass and skip the bonfires this week.Tracking fire dangers

Once the front pushes through our area. we’ll start to notice our morning lows drop and Saturday is the winner with morning lows. You’ll be waking up in the 60s with highs in the mid-80s, so enjoy it while it lasts because by next week—our lows will pop back up in the 70s with highs above average in the 90s.Morning lows going into the weekend

Tracking the tropics:

Tropical Storm Jerry is expected to bring thunderstorms and the chance for flash flooding to portions of the Leeward Islands tomorrow into Friday. Tropical Storm Jerry path

We’re also watching an area of low pressure moving toward the Bay of Campeche, which could bring heavy rain and gusty winds across southern Mexico in the coming days.Gulf area of interest
