2 children dead, mother and grandfather injured after large apartment fire in Greenspoint
Firefighters say the grandfather sustained serious burn injuries when he went back inside the apartment to try and save the two children.

Two children are dead and two others are injured after an apartment fire in Greenspoint on Wednesday night.
The Houston Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at an apartment complex located on Casa Grande Drive and Buckle Lane around 11 p.m.
When the firefighters arrived, they reported that heavy smoke was coming from the two-story apartment building.
Firefighters said a man and a woman were found outside the apartment. The man, who has since been identified as the children’s grandfather, sustained severe burns when he tried to go back inside the apartment and rescue the two children. The woman, who has been identified as the children’s mother, was also hospitalized for injuries.
HFD said about 60 firefighters responded to the deadly fire.
The cause of the fire is not clear, and the ages of the two children have not yet been released.
