Spain refuses to commit to 5% NATO defence spending target
FRANCE 24 correspondent Sarah Morris reports from Madrid after Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez closed the two-day NATO summit in the Netherlands still uncommitted to the 5 percent defence spending target other allies had agreed to in accordance with US President Donald Trump's demands. Sanchez insisted Madrid would find its own way to reaching the objective, while some claim the Spanish leader had in fact agreed to the new spending rate but sought to placate his government's left-wing allies.
