Authorities with the Harris County Pct. 5 Constable’s Office say three people were shot in the Cypress area Tuesday evening.

It happened in the 19000 block of Yaupon Ranch Drive, near Greenhouse Road. This is in the Yaupon Ranch subdivision.

At the scene, authorities say just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, Harris County Pct. 5 deputies responded after a 911 call was placed by a woman who said she was shot when a group of teenagers showed up at her home to fight her grandson.

Maj. Ben Katrib with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the 17-year-old arrived at home and was arguing with someone on the phone.

Shortly afterwards, the teenager stepped out into the driveway as several family members followed, urging him to come back inside the house.

A group of teenagers approached, and an argument took place outside the home. Shortly afterwards, gunfire erupted between the 17-year-old and at members of the other group. The sheriff’s office says they believe at least three people fired guns in the shooting.

During the shooting, the 17-year-old. along with two women who are believed to be his mother and grandmother, were struck by bullets. They were transported to a hospital.

Deputies established a perimeter and searched for the suspects, but they were unable to find anyone.

It was initially reported that a fourth victim had shown up at the hospital, and it was believed to be connected to this incident. However, authorities determined the victim was injured in another, unrelated shooting.

The sheriff’s office is still looking for the suspects. They believe that the majority of the suspects, if not all, are either current or former Cy-Fair ISD students.

A neighbor, who wanted to remain anonymous, said more than a dozen bullets hit the family’s car.

“We get a call from our neighbors saying, are you guys okay? Are you guys ok? And I didn’t know what he was talking about. I was like, yeah, we’re at the football games. He said, your house is full of yellow tape all around,” the neighbor said.

Authorities are asking for anyone with any information to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
