Police seek ‘vehicle of interest’ in Sugar Land road rage shooting

Detectives in Fort Bend County are urgently searching for a gray Nissan Sentra believed to be connected to a deadly road rage shooting that claimed a man’s life in Sugar Land earlier this year.

On June 21 around 11:51 a.m., deputies responded to reports of a vehicle that had left the roadway and crashed into a ditch along the southbound lanes of Highway 6.

Upon arrival, they found the driver, 43-year-old Roy Ferrer, deceased from a single gunshot wound to the head. Authorities believe the incident may have stemmed from a road rage confrontation.

Investigators are looking for a vehicle of interest seen on nearby surveillance video.

The vehicle is described as a gray 2013–2019 Nissan Sentra with dark-tinted windows.

“This case is a top priority for our agency,” said Sheriff Eric Fagan. “Our investigators are working tirelessly to piece together every detail and pursue those responsible for this senseless act. We are asking the public to assist us by sharing any information that may help identify the vehicle or individuals involved.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line at 281-341-4665, option 1, or remain anonymous by calling Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS (8477).
