Authorities in Montgomery County have arrested two women as part of an ongoing child abuse investigation.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said on Sept. 28, deputies and detectives responded to a call regarding a 12-year-old child who disclosed ongoing physical and sexual abuse.
The child was taken to a local hospital, where medical staff confirmed injuries consistent with abuse and malnutrition.
As a result of the investigation, arrest warrants were obtained for Brenda Garcia, 38, and Tania Garcia, 37. They were taken into custody on Oct. 3.
Their charges include injury to a child, unlawful restraint and invasive visual recording.
