13-year-old on motorbike killed in crash with car in Pearland

A 13-year-old boy riding on a gas-powered motorbike was killed after a crash with a car in Pearland Saturday morning.

The Pearland Police Department said it happened at the intersection of Cherry Street and Lynn Drive just after 11 a.m. Saturday morning.

Officers arrived and found the 13-year-old had been hit by a car. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver of the car stayed at the scene and has been cooperating with investigators. No charges are expected at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing. Police are calling the crash a tragic accident.
